The Pushcart Prize is an annual American literary award and anthology published by Pushcart Press to honor the best poetry, short fiction, and essays from small literary presses and journals over the past year. Editors can submit up to six works, which are then reviewed by contributing editors to select the featured pieces for the annual anthology, which creates a community of writers and readers and highlights the important work of independent publishing.
